Beijing (Tianjin) Travel Guide
Tianjin is the cruise gateway to Beijing — home of the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square. The journey is long (2-3 hours) but these are among the most significant historical sites on earth.
How Do You Get to Beijing?
Ship excursion or private car (2-3 hours each way). High-speed train from Tianjin to Beijing (30 min) if you can reach Tianjin South station.
What Can You See?
Great Wall (Mutianyu) — Less crowded section. Cable car up, toboggan down. 2 hrs from Tianjin.
Forbidden City — 9,999 rooms. China's imperial palace for 500 years.
Temple of Heaven — Where emperors prayed for harvests. Beautiful circular architecture.
Tianjin — If not going to Beijing: Italian Concession area, Porcelain House, Ancient Culture Street.
