Arriving at Mykonos

Large cruise ships anchor offshore and tender to the old port in Mykonos Town. Smaller ships may dock at Tourlos, about 2km from town. From the old port, you walk directly into the heart of Mykonos Town.

Exploring Mykonos Town

Mykonos Town is a maze of white-washed streets designed to disorient pirates. Wander without a map and discover hidden squares, boutiques, and tiny churches.

  • Little Venice — Colorful houses on the waterfront where waves splash against balconies. Best spot for sunset drinks.

  • The Windmills — Iconic 16th-century windmills on the hill above Little Venice.

  • Paraportiani Church — The most photographed church in Greece.

Eating in Mykonos

Mykonos is expensive by Greek standards. For the best value, eat away from the waterfront. Bakeries sell tiropita and spanakopita for a few euros. Gyros shops in back streets serve filling meals for 5-7 euros.

Lucy translates Greek menus, including tavernas with Greek-only specials boards.
