How to Get Back to the Ship on Time Every Time
The Lucy Team

The Golden Rule
Be back at the port at least one hour before the published departure time. Not 30 minutes. Not 15 minutes. One full hour. This buffer accounts for unexpected delays: traffic, a wrong turn, a broken-down bus, or a longer-than-expected walk.
Time Management Strategies
Set multiple alarms. Set an alarm for 2 hours before departure (start heading back) and 1.5 hours before (you should be in transit). Use your phone, your watch, or both.
Know the transit time. Before you leave the ship, research how long it takes to get from the city back to the port by your chosen transport method. Double it for safety.
Work backward from departure. If the ship leaves at 5pm, you should be at the port by 4pm. Transit takes 30 minutes, so leave the city by 3:30pm. Buffer: leave by 3pm.
Have a taxi backup plan. If the bus is late or you are cutting it close, know where to find a taxi. Have the port address saved in the local language on your phone.
Stay aware of the time. When you are having fun, time disappears. Glance at your phone regularly after lunch.
What Happens If You Miss the Ship
The ship leaves without you. You must make your own way to the next port at your own expense. Flights, hotels, and transportation add up fast. This is why travel insurance and time management matter.
Lucy helps you navigate back to the port by translating transit signs and taxi instructions. Save the port address in the local language in Lucy before you leave the ship.
